Should You Be Running Facebook Ads?

Did you know you can reach your exact audience with Facebook? I’m talking down to zip codes, religious affiliations, the magazines they read, age, gender, hobbies, just about anything… you name it!

The great thing is you can decide the results you want. For example, do you want more visitors to your web site? More Likes to your Facebook Page? More people signing up for your list? All of these are possible.

Now, how much do you want to spend? You can spend as little as a $1 per day on advertising. I’ve gotten click-through’s to web sites down as low as 10 cents per click (although the average is probably around $.30-.40 per click. I’ve seen Likes as low as $.17/Like, although they can go higher or could be lower. It really all depends upon the audience you’re trying to reach and the response rate of the ad you’re running. The great thing is you can set your budget and know ahead of time the ball park of what you’ll be paying per action. You can also tweak and adjust your ad or your audience at any point in the process.

Here’s what one of my clients had to say. We consulted together on their objectives and crafted an advertising strategy, objective and budget that met their needs.

“I want to thank you for your help with our Facebook ad campaign. We met our goals and spent less than originally estimated. I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with everything! You are good at what you do, and I am glad to have your help! Sure makes a difference when somebody actually knows what they are doing!”

– Deseret Ward,
Political Campaign Manager

I’ve been doing online advertising since 1998. As the creator of one of the largest and longest-running content directories, I was on the “publisher” side of the equation. I ran ads that generated five figures each month and learned an immense amount about what makes a successful ad campaign. It’s all about maximizing results for your advertising budget. I can quickly identify what you need in place BEFORE you run ads to drive traffic. Without these elements in place, you’re just throwing your money down the toilet!

I bring my years of online marketing and advertising experience to the table with my social media clients, helping them get the best results from their campaigns at the best rate possible.

Whether you only want help with your ad campaigns or you want to beef up your social media engagement, I have a plan that will work for you and your budget.

The Art of Connecting with Your Audience

Yesterday was the final call for my Finding Your Wow: Niche Mastery System, and what a rewarding experience it was! This call brought the whole course together and gave each participant 10 minutes to share. It was so beautiful to hear them masterfully weave their stories and hearts’ messages! WOW! I can’t tell you how many times my eyes welled with tears or the goosebumps rose on my arms as these women connected heart-to-heart.

connect with your audienceEven though I know the power of story, I sat in awe at what transpired. All I had to do was hear their stories and I couldn’t help thinking, “Ok, tell me how I can work with you… what are you offering? Let me buy!”

I just LOVE helping people articulate their hearts’ messages in a way that connects with their ideal audience. When participants open up and share from the heart, miracles happen. Here’s what a couple of the ladies wrote in our Facebook group this morning:

“Marnie, This course has been perfect for refining one’s purpose and niche. You gave me the parameters and direction, and I simply found the frequency with which I wanted to accomplish the task. The best course I have had yet!!!!!” – Cathy Freeman, RealPositiveChange.com

“I am soooooo clear now about what I want to do and almost clear on how I am going to do it. This is the best course I have ever taken – and I’ve taken many.” – Crystal Pina StreamlineYourMarketing.com

I know my process works, but I also know it wouldn’t work if the people who were involved didn’t show up, do their homework, and share from the heart. I’m truly grateful for these women who were willing to commit and dive deep.

I’m so excited about the results they achieved, I’ve decided to schedule another “Finding Your Sweet Spot Niche Mastery System” training sooner than I had expected.

So if you’re ready to stop floundering around with your message and deliver it to the hearts and minds of your ideal clients, join me in July for my next session. I keep these groups small so everyone has a chance to share… so act fast if you’re interested. I hope you’ll join me! I’m excited to hear your story! 🙂

The One Thing that Matters Most

Lately I’ve been going through some major changes in my business and personal life. In the end, I’ve come away with a deeper, more poignant understanding that what really matters most is our relationship with the Lord — our ability to ask, receive answers and act upon inspiration as it comes.

When we have the ability to seek, hear and act upon the Spirit, we have everything we need. Markets may change, economies may falter, marriages may crumble, businesses may suffer setbacks, but if we have this lifeline to God and to His infinite wisdom, we have everything we need.

This is one reason why I’m wholeheartedly focusing all my “eggs into one basket” — helping faith-based entrepreneurs ignite their light, life, love and faith in a lifestyle business. Yesterday I re-launched my IgnitePoint.com site around this focus, and I’d like to invite you to take a look at it. If you like what you see, please subscribe to our daily updates there. I’ll be posting business and inspirational tips (called IgnitePoints) on the site 5 days a week and introducing you to some wonderful people who will inspire, teach, and help you succeed.

Each weekday the home page changes and reveals a new piece of inspiration or instruction. If you provide your name and email on the site, you’ll be able to receive these “IgnitePoints” in your email — http://www.IgnitePoint.com.

Getting Your Tribe to Market For You

Leslie HouseholderOn our IgnitePoint.com creating revenue streams call yesterday, Kirk Duncan of 3KeyElements.com and Leslie Householder of ThoughtsAlive.com both said they don’t market. As a marketer myself, I’ve watched these two with wonder, having spent some time with them personally, I can substantiate their claim. I’ve said on more than one occasion, “Just think what you could do if you marketed yourself!”

But I want to make one thing clear. Just because they say they don’t market, doesn’t mean that marketing doesn’t get done. There’s an intense amount of marketing that goes on around Kirk and Leslie. It just isn’t them or their paid team doing it. It’s their fans.

being a tribal leaderNow, much of this comes down to your definition of marketing. Both have web sites, have email lists, have Facebook pages. But so do millions of other people on the internet who don’t have the following they have. Leslie has quite the intensive marketing system in place that goes to those who are already on her list. She has a compelling give-away. Kirk gives at least two free “Body Language Shows” each month to the public. All of this can be considered “marketing.” But I know lots of other people who do similar things, and they don’t have the following or generate the revenues Kirk and Leslie do.

When Kirk and Leslie say they don’t “market,” they’re saying they aren’t out there drumming up new business, paying for advertising, wracking their brains to find new ways to reach their audiences. They aren’t constantly on Facebook and Twitter. They aren’t creating Pinterest pictures and posting them in hopes that they’ll go viral.

Why? Because their tribes market for them. For example, Kirk has appeared on local television on numerous occasions. As far as I know, he never sent a press release, never sought that out. One of his fans (whom I personally know) has a sister who used to work at the station, and she got her to bring Kirk on. He was such a hit, they kept bringing him back. His shows are largely filled by word of mouth.

I’ve been marketing Leslie for over a decade – without pay, without commission. Why? Because the woman changed my life, and in my book I’ll never be able to repay her. And I’m not the only one. When people feel that way about you, they spread the word about you. They do your marketing for you.

Make no mistakes, marketing MUST be done.

These two are fascinating examples of the power of tribe. And I want you to realize that both of them have those who love them and hate them. Especially Kirk. He can really polarize people – and he’ll admit that to you himself. But what creates the intense “raving-fan-love” for Kirk is that he’s always full-on, no-holds-barred Kirk. And if you want to build your own tribe of raving fans, you have to stop worrying about what other people think. You can’t be concerned about being PC. Yes, you’re going to alienate some people. Some people aren’t going to get you or like you or agree with you. And that’s ok, because the more YOU you can be, the more you will draw to you the exact people who are resonating completely with you and your message. That’s what goes viral.

Nobody gets excited about drinking a cup of lukewarm water. Give me a cold glass on a summer day or give me a hot cup with a pack of hot chocolate on a cold one. But lukewarm isn’t all that appealing unless you’re thirsting to death.

If you want to build a tribe and get your followers to market for you. Be hot, be cold, but don’t be lukewarm.

Ignite Your WOW! – Coming Rebrand

Marnie Pehrson, WOW Luminary! There are some exciting developments on the horizon for IdeaMarketers.com and my own personal brand. Over the last few years, spamminess in the article marketing and SEO community have created a real challenge at IdeaMarketers. It’s become impossible to control quality with thousands of articles pouring in daily and a staff insufficient to look at every single one of them.

The lower the quality became, the more out-of-sync I felt with the site, but cleaning it up was too overwhelming to tackle.

So, this week I took a major leap of faith and took back control of my flagship site. We hand-picked the best authors, kept the writers who’ve paid-to-play in the past, and deactivated nearly 3 million articles!
In a flip of a switch, we reduced our content from 3 million articles to 40,000! I’ll admit, that evening I had a minor panic attack, just thinking about what I’d done.

But, I know it’s the right thing to do. Quality is more important than quantity. Focus is better than chaos.

I feel great about this new direction as the site will be an extension of my brand, my values, and my core passions. It’s going to become an invaluable resources to my primary niche — Light Bearers (see definition below).

In the next few weeks, you’ll watch IdeaMarketers evolve into only hand-selected, curated expert content. No more article directory, no more public submissions. Our team of experts will be showing you how to Ignite your WOW! It’s all about getting the message you have to share with the world packaged, promoted, and platformed where it generates buzz and creates a WOW!

We’ll be talking about the 12 aspects of “WOW-dome:”

It feels wonderful to be heading in a direction where all my projects are completely aligned with my core values of promoting positive messages, creating community, and illuminating the WOW!
